Audubon Adventure Camp 2013 Registration Now Open!
Audubon Adventure Camp is THE summer childcare solution
in downtown Columbus.
Adventure Camp headquarters is the Grange Insurance Audubon Center, located in the Scioto Audubon Metro Park, less than a mile from downtown Columbus. The property covers more than 160 acres of woods and meadows along the Scioto river front, giving summer campers a myriad of opportunities to get outdoors and play!
Outdoor fun includes guided hikes and scavenger hunts, fishing trips and field adventures, and lots of opportunities to unplug and connect with nature in the great outdoors. Kids can feel the mud ooze between their toes in the wetland, listen to birds in the forest, catch and release butterflies and dragonflies in the fields and fish along the Scioto River. Outdoor educators help them connect with the natural world and discover the amazing animals and insects all around us.
Camp Programs
Audubon Adventure Camp is open to children in grades 1 – 8. Specially designed programs for each age group let children follow their interests and explore the arts, science, outdoor conservation, ecology, and more! Audubon Adventure Camp is accredited by the ACA (American Camp Association) and led by full-time, professional outdoor educators.
Easy Access and Full Day Care
Weekly sessions run Monday – Friday from 9am – 4pm. Additional before and after care are available on site. Curbside drop off and pick up make getting kids there a breeze.
Camp Dates
Weekly sessions begin June 10th and continue all summer long with a full day of outdoor fun and adventure for children. Camp tuition is $185 per week for Grange Insurance Audubon Center members, $200 per week for non-members. Online registration makes it fast and easy to sign your child up for an amazing summer adventure.

Welcome to the Grange Insurance Audubon Center
Exploring the Nature of Change Less than a 10-minute walk from downtown Columbus, on a half-forgotten bend in the Scioto River, lies a fragile green oasis, a tiny jewel, a hidden haven for wildlife and birds set amid an industrial landscape now in transformation. At the heart of this transformation will be the Grange Insurance Audubon Center, one of the first such centers in Audubon’s storied history to bring hands-on conservation and nature-based learning this close to the core of a major American city.
The Grange Insurance Audubon Center in the Scioto Audubon Metro Park is located in an Important Bird Area (IBA) where thousands of birds migrating from Central and South America use this spot along the Scioto River as a stopover during their long journeys.
The restoration of the Whittier Peninsula is happening through a unique partnership of City of Columbus Recreation & Parks Department, Metro Parks and Audubon Ohio.
With the arrival of cooler weather, we invite you to come and out enjoy the Center. Our hours (now - March 31, 2013) are Tuesday - Friday 10a - 5p, Saturday 10a - 3p and Sunday Noon - 5p. Bring the kids and enjoy the play room and library where you can watch and count the birds at the feeders. No kids, bring a book and enjoy a relaxing place to catch up on your reading. Hope to see you soon!
